The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

The Retribution of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin

This book. THIS BOOK. Holy poop.

This was an absolute roller coaster of emotion. It was funny, sad, creepy as fuck, and so many more adjectives that I can't even think of at the moment.

This one definitely solidified Jamie as my favorite character. He made this book for me. He was SUCH a loyal and amazing friend to Mara. And his ability was so perfect. Mara could not have gotten ANYWHERE in this book without Jamie.

Mara was so much darker in this book. She came into her own in a very distinct, disturbing sense. It was nice to see her finally accept herself and what she can do, but it was frightening to see the things she did and the way she dealt with them after the fact.

I was really surprised with how quickly the whole Horizons situation sorted itself out (I won't elaborate). But after the way Evolution ended, I completely expected Mara to be stuck there for at least 50% of this installment. So I was very pleased that wasn't the case.

Overall, I loved this trilogy. I was pleased with the conclusion and definitely think this book was worth the LONG wait.
